Quizzard ("we", "us") is operated by Maru Studios. This policy explains what information we collect when you use quizzard.in and how we use it. By using the service, you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

• Account info — name and email when you sign up with email or Google.
• Profile info — nickname, avatar (superhero or selfie) chosen during play.
• Quiz content — quizzes, sections, questions, and images you upload as a host.
• Gameplay data — answers, response times, scores, and achievements.
• Approximate location — country/region derived from IP via ipapi.co for analytics.
• Technical data — browser type, device, and error logs to keep the app reliable.

2. How we use it

• Run live quiz sessions and show real-time leaderboards.
• Save your medals, achievements, and quiz history (signed-in users only).
• Show hosts and admins aggregate analytics (DAU/MAU, geography).
• Improve performance, fix bugs, and prevent abuse.

3. Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with service providers that help us run Quizzard:

• Supabase (database, authentication, storage)
• Google (OAuth sign-in, if you choose Google)
• ipapi.co (approximate geo lookup)
• Cloudflare / hosting providers (delivery)

4. Public visibility

When you join a game, your name, nickname, avatar, score, and response time are visible to the host and other participants in that session. Do not use a nickname or upload a selfie you don't want other players to see.

5. Cookies & storage

We use browser storage to keep you signed in, remember your mute preference, and cache session state. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

6. Your rights

You can update your profile from your dashboard, or email us to request access, correction, or deletion of your account and associated data. Guest participants can play without an account; guest gameplay is not linked to a persistent profile.

7. Data retention

We keep account and quiz data for as long as your account is active. Deleting your account removes your profile, quizzes, and gameplay history within 30 days, except where we must keep records for legal or security reasons.

8. Children

Quizzard is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and we will remove it.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be highlighted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
