How a Quizzard game works, step by step
1. The host builds a quiz. Questions are added by hand, imported in bulk from an Excel or CSV template, or assembled instantly from Quizzard’s built-in question bank. Questions can be grouped into named sections such as Sports, Movies or Science, each with a cover thumbnail.
2. The host starts a session. Quizzard generates a 6-character room code and a QR code. The host shares it on screen, by email, or over WhatsApp.
3. Players join the room. Each player enters the code at quizzard.in, picks a nickname and one of 32 superhero avatars, and lands in the lobby. Guests can play without an account; signed-in players keep their history and medals.
4. Questions run on a shared timer. A 3-second countdown syncs every screen, the question appears with its timer, and answers lock when time runs out or when everyone has answered.
5. Reveal and leaderboard. The correct answer is highlighted, each player sees their own result card, and then the animated leaderboard shows the new ranking, who moved up or down, and average response times.
6. Podium finish. The final screen is a gold/silver/bronze podium with confetti, followed by ranks 4–10 and a pinned card showing each player their own rank. Hosts and players can open detailed question-by-question reports.
What makes Quizzard different from other quiz apps
The leaderboard is the product, not an afterthought. Most quiz tools show a scoreboard at the end. Quizzard re-ranks after every question with a two-beat animation that makes overtakes visible, which is what keeps a room loud.
Speed is scored, not just correctness. Answer accuracy earns the base points; how quickly you locked it in decides who tops the table. Average response time is shown per player so hosts can see fluency, not just knowledge.
